What is the difference between the use of user MAT and the user boot MAT?

Latest Updated:04/19/2013

Question:

What is the difference between the use of the user MAT and the user boot MAT?

Answer:

User MAT is the flash memory space to be accessed when activating the user mode (MCU extended mode/MCU single-chip mode in which the on-chip ROM is enabled) and the user program mode.
The user-created real application program is stored in the user MAT.

User boot MAT is the flash memory space to be accessed after activating the user boot mode (one of the on-board programming modes).
The user-created original boot program that is used for reprogramming the user MAT area with a desired interface is stored in the user boot MAT.

The user MAT can be reprogrammed in all programming modes, while the user boot MAT can be done only in the boot mode or the programmer mode.

In addition the user MAT and the user boot MAT can be accessed by switching each other, but there are some necessary configuration settings and usage notes.
Please refer to the hardware manual supplied with each product for more details.
