Latest Updated:09/18/2015

Question:

The “E0562310 Undefined external symbol ‘Symbol’ referenced in ‘File’” is output when linking. Does this indicate that something is wrong?

Answer:

1.“Symbol” is a name in a C standard library function (i.e. It is not a name you are using as a symbol name).

●CC-RH/CC-RL
Set [Use ”Standard/Mathematical Library” function] in [Frequently Used Options (for Link)] from the [Common Options] tab page in the property of the build tool on CS+ to [Yes].

●CC-RX
Enable use of the library from the [Standard library] category which is from the [Library Generate Options] tab in the property of the build tool on CS+.

2. “Symbol” is the name of a symbol you are using. “File” is referring to “Symbol”, but “Symbol” is not defined. Define “Symbol”, or check for spelling and similar mistakes at the point where the symbol is defined.
