Setting the offset to an absolute file and downloading it when the debugger is connected is not guaranteed in the High-performance Embedded Workshop. The absolute file debug information is an absolute address, and it is assumed it will not be set as an offset.
If it is only a program that does not have debug information, you can set the file as the offset and download it. To do so, please use one of the following files.
HEX file （*.hex）
Motorola S Format file （*.mot）
Binary file (*.bin)
After setting one of the above files as an offset and downloading it, by sending it to an address that does not have an offset in order to execute the file, you can debug it by downloading only the debug information. To do so, use the following procedure.
When you connect the debugger, go to [Download modules] in the workspace window. Right click on Absolute file (*.abs) and select [Properties].
Set offset to 0, check [Download debug information only] and execute download.
Right click on [Download modules] in the workspace window, and select [Add download module].
Download the execute program in the same output range as the absolute file downloaded in (2) above, specifying either HEX file (*.hex), Motorola S Format file (*.mot) or Binary file (*.bin).
