How start up the E10A- USB Emulator in E10- AUSB Emulator mode?

Latest Updated:03/16/2011

Question:

When I start up the E10A-USB Emulator (for SH Family) in the “E10A-USB Emulator” mode, and enter the correct ID code, I get the following message: “Key code error!”

Answer:

  1. The cause of the problem may be that, prior to using the “E10A-USB Emulator” mode, you wrote the program with the Flash Development Toolkit or in the E10A-USB “Writing Flash memory” mode.
The ID code is only valid for debugging; it is invalid when the program was written with the Flash Development Toolkit or in the E10A-USB “Writing Flash memory” mode.

Therefore, if you startup the debugger in the “E10A-USB Emulator” mode and enter the ID code after writing the program in either of these conditions, the “Key code error!” message will be displayed, the contents of the flash memory will be erased, and the debugger will shut down.

In this case, when you start up E10A-USB, go to the [ID Code] dialog box, select [Enter new ID code], and type in a new ID code.

  2. If the wrong ID code is entered even once, the contents of the flash memory are completely erased, and the ID code becomes invalid.

If you enter the wrong ID code by mistake, and then try to enter the correct ID code, you well get the “Key code error!” message and E10A-USB will not start up.

In this case, go to the [ID Code] dialog box, select [Enter new ID code], and enter a new ID code.
