How are P51/SOUT2 and P52/SCLK2 affected by I/O2 port selection?

Latest Updated:01/25/2005

Question:

(Serial Interface)  How are P51/SOUT2 and P52/SCLK2 pin function affected by the serial I/O2 port selection bit (bit3) in the serial I/O2 control register (SIO2CON) and the direction register? [2005/01/25]

Answer:

When bit3 = 1, regardless of the direction register settings, the SOUT2 pin is output and SCLK2 is I/O.
At this time, the pin state can be read when the direction register is set to "0".
The SCLK2 pin is used for input when the synchronous clock selection bit is "0" (external clock), and output when the synchronous clock selection bit is "1" (internal clock).
At this time, the pin state can be read when the direction register is set to "0".
When bit3 = 0, SOUT2 pin is I/O port P51 and SCLK2 pin is I/O port P52. (#104935)
