(M16C/5X,M16C/63,M16C/64,M16C/65) What happens to count source when CPU clock is changed?

Latest Updated:03/22/2012

Question:

When a CPU clock is changed from a main clock to an on-chip oscillator clock, what happens to the count source of the peripheral function?

Answer:

For peripheral functions supplied by peripheral function clock f1, the on-chip oscillator clock becomes the count source of those peripheral functions. For peripheral functions supplied by any of peripheral clocks fOCO-S, fOCO-F, FOCO40M, fC32, or fC, their count sources will be unchanged even if the CPU clock is switched.
*The count source which can be supplied to a peripheral function clock differs by product. Please check the User's Manual: Hardware for your product.
